Multicast Ortho Thermoplastic
Multicast Ortho is a low-temperature
thermoplastic with enhanced processing
characteristics such as transparency and
maximum drape.
Multicast Ortho is an exceptionally versatile
thermoplastic material that offers the
advantages of transparency when heated.
Characteristics of Multicast
Ortho:
- Turns clear when heated - then opaque
when cooled
- Has maximum drape
- Possibility of vertical (anti-gravity)
positioning
- Bounds without need for solvents
- Resists fingerprints and other pressure
marks
- Lower processing temperature than
standard Multicast
Application of Multicast Ortho:
- To soften material, place it into
a water bath at 60 - 65°C (140 -
149°F) for 2 minutes or until sufficiently
soft.
- When ready, remove from the water
and lay on a flat, preferably wooden
surface.
- Wait a few seconds (until bearably
warm) and apply onto the patient.
Typical Applications:
GOOD for Ankle brace
VERY GOOD for finger, wrist, metacarpus
splint, tibia, knee and lower back brace
